Christmas Shopping

I have added lots of new items to Sugar, so check out the new additions. Ashley and I have another show this Sunday in Gainesville, FL (GLAM), so items will be going fast.

Sunday

up to no good

Where have I been lately? I vanished from the blogosphere. Ashley and I have been selling and selling all weekend. The jingle jubilee was friday night, saturday and sunday. We sold a decent amount of goodies for our first event....enough to justify three days worth~i am not sure. We still need to sit down and look at the math. Here is a glimpse of what we were up to.

I hope you enjoyed the shots of our weekend-time to rest and recharge for the show next weekend...glam in Gainesville.

Interview with two bloggers

It's round two of interview with a blogger, but this time it's two bloggers with one blog. Allegra and Emily of Frenchie & Flea are creative, innovative, inspiring and gorgeous to boot. If you don't already follow their blog, you should check it out. They are always introducing me to new ideas and amazing up and coming creative types. Their etsy shop, also called Frenchie & Flea, offers "inspired design for brides, business, personal and everything in between!" Go wild!

They also offer styling packages for new or old businesses, such as photography styling, logo design, business card creation and anything else you think you need help perfecting.

When you finish here, you should visit style me pretty to view Emily's beautiful wedding that's featured over there. It's absolutely picturesque and lovely.

Visit Frenchie & Flea the blog AND Frenchie & Flea the etsy shop.

The shop has so much to offer~you might even find the perfect birth announcement, Chrsitmas card, or "we moved" cards.

Happy Halloween

Luke was fan of halloween. He quickly figured out how to take candy and put it in his bag. He loved climbing every one's steps, ringing the doorbell and waiting for them to answer~that usually made him jump a bit. He was terrified of the scary houses~the ones with ghouls and goblins hanging everywhere. He also loved giving candy to our trick or treaters. When we closed up for the night, he kept looking at our front door wandering if more goblins were coming.

Donkey Basketball

It's Hawaiian shirt day...
it's the day before Halloween, and we got to dress up at work. Last year we participated, so we had to continue the tradition. The only logical costume for our department was the donkey basketball team.

Helper

Ever since Luke started to walk and started to understand what we were saying, we encouraged him to help with everything, sweeping, throwing trash away, dishes, putting away toys~anything. I recently came across this chore chart here, and fell in love with the idea. You can customize it to suit your family. Luke may be a little young for the chore chart still, but he gets the idea of helping.

Trick or treat smell my feet~

...give me something good to eat. If you don't, I don't care. I'll pull down your underwear.

Happy Halloween eve everyone. I hope you bags get full of yummy treats and not tricks. I am thinking about changing Luke's costume.

He's really been into bath time lately, and I think he wants to tak up swimming. I really like the swimsuits of yesteryear though, and since we are going with a vintage look,

I'm considering the costume Grandma brought with her.

Splish splash
Oh wait, it's not a costume. Grandma thought this would be a good way for Luke to learn to swim next summer.
1.I don't think it will fit next year 2. I promised him we wouldn't make him wear it out in public. (the blog doesn't count)

Interview with a blogger

i have often referenced Ashley of Smitten Design, so I decided you should get to know her! She is ultra creative and has a fantastic eye for style and fashion.

Sugar Labels

I have been wanting some SUGAR labels to sew on my blankets. I have looked around and even found this source on etsy, which I might use in the long run. For now though, I used spoonflower, and they are awesome. You can upload ANY design and have it printed on quilt weight or upholstery weight fabric. You can order a test swatch, fat quarter or a million yards. It is very reasonable for a custom designed fabric. I ordered a fat quarter, and it was ten bucks.

Monday

Extra, Extra read all about it!

Luke is a paper boy/news boy this year for a halloween. Here is a peak at his costume for Saturday. I made the pants, bag and the suspenders, and I bought the hat from the Lovely Little One's etsy shop. The pants tutorial I found on the Made Blog. I love how the pants turned out and will, no doubt, be making more. The suspenders were easy too. They are not adjustable, but they are pretty easy. I bought suspender clips and attached everything like regular suspenders. As for the bag, I was winging it there, but it does hold papers. Plus I know it will hold a good amount of candy for...eh hum...mommy to eat.
